Our Story

2013
HUMBLE BEGINNINGS

As an original idea of Concordia University, District 3 began its journey as an accelerator. This Innovation Center offered a viable solution for the missing gap in the Montreal Startup Ecosystem.

2014
VALIDATION

Our agile mindset allowed us to offer different programs and services to entrepreneurs. We began coaching only 10 startups, and ended with a cohort of 40, making our initial location too small to accommodate big dreams.

2015
THE FIT IN THE COMMUNITY

After receiving several grants and donations from various organizations, District 3’s Innovation Center established itself as a promising accelerator in Montreal. Our staff grew from a team of 5 employees to 20 employees, and we were coaching 6-8 startups on a weekly basis.

2016 - BEYOND
GROWTH

Today, District 3 switched to a cohort-based model, launched two additional specialized accelerators, and helped over 300 entrepreneurs on their startup journey. Our determination to make a dent in the world by helping innovative startups continues to thrive.
